I remember as this trip was nearing, my wife and I didn't exactly know what to anticipate. Would the weather hold up? Would we actually see animals? We were excited, even a little bit nervous.
Yellowstone blew away any expectations I had. We chose to go in mid May to try and avoid crowds, and I think it was a great time of year to experience this beautiful place. We had a mix of sun and snow almost every day, watching the landscape change every few hours was really magical, it seemed like every time we drove by a landmark it looked different. The wildlife was incredible. Seeing a Grizzly bear for the first time was a truly incredible experience. I brought along a 1.4x teleconverter, Sigma 150-600mm, and with Sony's clear image zoom I was able to shoot upwards of 1800mm at times. Pretty awesome set up that can fit in a backpack!

ACQUA ALTA: VENICE
Venice, Italy- probably the most unique city I've ever had the chance of visiting. No trains, trucks, or cars, just boats. Daily logistics and routines are just handled differently in a city built on water and facing rising tides. My wife and I were able to spend 4 days here in November, 2018, roughly one month after record flooding. Although it rained the majority of our stay, it showed us another beautiful angle of the city and challenges it faces in its future.
